Minos Prime is the second boss of P-1: SOUL SURVIVOR and is the Prime Soul of King Minos, forming immediately after the Flesh Prison Flesh Prison is destroyed.

Minos Prime is a pale bluish-white translucent humanoid figure with a visible circulatory system and heart. He has two snakes wrapped around his arms, a hole in his face, and a cubical crown fused to his head. He also emits a perpetual bright blue glow.

Behaviour

Prime Souls have a stamina system, which dictates how many attacks they are able to use.
Minos Prime has 6 stamina in his first phase and 12 in his second, and recovers 5 when parried.
If Minos Prime runs out of stamina he will be unable to attack for 2 seconds.

When damaged to below 65 health, he will enter his second phase, signified by him gaining blue flames and stating “WEAK.”

Attacks

Dropkick

Minos Prime will yell “Judgement!”, enter a crouching position, then teleport in front of V1 and perform a dropkick, creating a large explosion that deals 50 damage.
This attack can be parried; during his first phase, a successful parry will also cancel the explosion.
If V1 dodges towards Minos Prime to avoid this attack, he will immediately follow up with either a Rider Kick or an Overhead.
This attack uses 2 stamina.

Boxing Combo

Minos Prime will yell “Thy end is now!” before attempting to hit V1 with a 4-punch combo, each hit dealing 30 damage.
The last hit can be parried. Afterward, Minos Prime will be stuck in the ground shortly until he dislodges himself, giving a short window to heal.
If V1 goes airborne after a swing, Minos Prime will immediately cancel into an Uppercut.
This attack uses 2 stamina.

Snake Throw

Minos Prime will launch a homing orange snake projectile towards V1, dealing 30 damage per hit.
He may follow up with this attack after finishing any other one. The chance of this happening is increased in his second phase.
The projectile can be parried and deflected. Parrying the projectile will not give Minos Prime any stamina.
Unlike his other attacks, this one uses no stamina.

Kick Combo

Minos Prime will shout “Prepare thyself!” then kick V1 twice for 30 damage each before performing a Snake Throw directly afterwards.
If V1 is sent airborne after a kick, Minos Prime will immediately cancel into an Uppercut.
This attack uses 3 stamina.

Rider Kick

Minos Prime will shout “Die!”, pauses while aiming toward V1 before slamming towards them, creating a grounded shockwave. This attack can hit the wall or ceiling, which causes Minos Prime to release the shockwave along that surface and instantly recuperate after the attack.
Both the shockwave and Minos Prime hitting V1 deal 25 damage, although they cannot hit at the same time.
This attack uses 1 stamina.

Ground Slam

Minos Prime will yell “Crush!” and slam directly downwards, creating an explosion and a grounded shockwave.
This attack creates an explosion that deals 50 damage as well as a 25 damage shockwave.
This attack uses 1 stamina.

Uppercut

Minos Prime will perform an uppercut against V1, dealing 30 damage and launching it into the air.
After reaching the peak of his jump, Minos Prime will follow up with either an Overhead, or a Ground Slam if V1 is directly below or a Rider Kick otherwise.
If V1 is above the peak of Minos Prime's jump, he will simply fall back to the ground without any follow-up.
In his second phase, he may use a Snake Throw before following up with the previously mentioned attacks.
This attack uses 1 stamina.

Overhead

Minos Prime will teleport infront of and slightly above they player, then hit them back to the ground with an overhead strike, dealing 30 damage.
In his second phase, he may use a Snake Throw directly after attempting an overhead if it does not hit V1.
This attack uses 1 stamina.

Strategy

Before the fight begins, players can set up traps in order to deal a large amount of damage to Minos Prime right at the start of the fight. A Sawblade Sawblade Trap or a Nail Nail Trap can be set up to cleave through large amounts of his health once the fight starts. Throwing two coins in the air and shooting them with the Alternate Revolver Alternate Revolver's Alt Fire beam will also destroy a sizeable chunk of his health right at the beginning. More experienced players can also line up a Railcoin to deal heaps of damage.

Once the fight begins, V1 should prioritize staying grounded. Being airborne while fighting Minos Prime is gravely dangerous, as one small mistake can lead to him comboing a player, killing them or putting them on the brink of death. If you are sent airborne by Minos Prime, it's important to ground slam as soon as possible (however bear in mind to not ground slam on any shockwaves, as that will result in both damage and you being sent flying again).

Parrying with the Feedbacker Feedbacker is a key part in defeating Minos Prime. Parrying his melee attacks on Standard and below will cancel them, and parrying the snake projectiles is a reliable source of health (even if the projectile doesn't hit Minos Prime) and damage. The Knuckleblaster Knuckleblaster combined with Shotgun Shotgun Swapping is an extremely effective way to deal damage during Minos Prime's downtime, and Shotgun Blasts can parry his Boxing Combo attack. The Whiplash Whiplash isn't helpful in this fight as Minos Prime tends to be near V1 when opportunities to damage him arise.

The Revolvers Revolvers are a reliable weapon to use against Minos Prime. Marksman Revolver Marksman Revolver ricochets are ideal for dealing damage to Minos Prime. The Alternate Revolver is a good tool for damage provided the player is able to aim at the boss. Throwing two coins in the air and hitting them with the Alternative Piercer's Alt Fire while Minos Prime is recovering from an attack or regaining stamina is a very good technique to deal grave damage. Experienced players can also attempt to line up a Railcoin for even more damage.

Projectile Boosts are a very effective technique to deal damage to Minos Prime, as even if the projectile itself misses, the explosion will still deal a decent amount of damage to the boss. Shotgun Swapping and punching Minos Prime with the Knuckleblaster during his downtime is a good way to both deal large amounts of damage and heal.

Sticking a Magnet Magnet on Minos Prime and unloading both Nailgun Nailguns onto him is a good way to take out huge chunks of his health. More experienced players can also use Overheat Overheat Storage for a practically infinite amount of heatsinks for as long as you can keep the combo up, which is an excellent way to not only damage Minos Prime but also recover Weapon Freshness for the other weapons.

Combining the Rocket Launcher Rocket Launchers' rockets with Projectile Boosts is a very good way to not only deal damage to Minos Prime but to also conserve Weapon Freshness on the Shotguns and to reduce arm exhaustion. Shooting a Rocket at Minos Prime while he's airborne, during either his dropkick or when he jumps into the air to perform his rider kick or a snake projectile throw will result in a red explosion dealing double damage, making it a great way for players with good aim to deal damage to Minos Prime.

Terminal Entry

TYPE: PRIME SOUL

DATA:
A prime soul is an incredibly rare occurrence in which a soul amasses so much power that it no longer requires a Husk as a vessel to manifest physically.

As manifestations of pure will, prime souls are incredibly powerful, to the point that even the prideful angels see them as a threat and will use any means necessary to stop them from forming.

King Minos felt that eternal suffering was an unfair and unreasonable punishment for those whose only sin was loving another. After the Disappearance of God, as angels were lost and Heaven was in chaos, Minos began his efforts to reform the Lust layer.

The Lust renaissance was prosperous, as King Minos guided its inhabitants to come together and build a new civilization. The combined efforts of the countless who had been damned to the second layer bore great results as the grand city of Lust grew and grew.

However, after the Council took control of Heaven and brought stability to it through their iron fist rule, they saw that Minos had gone against God's will by freeing sinners from the punishment that God had designed for them.

Gabriel, the brightest of the angels, was sent to kill Minos. The king, rather than fight back, tried to reason with him, but Gabriel mercilessly struck him down without listening.

As Minos' will was strong enough to attempt to stand up to Heaven's rule, the angels chose to imprison his soul in an attempt to stop it from forming into a prime soul and appointed Gabriel as the new Judge of Hell.

From the prison inside his own body, Minos helplessly watched as his soulless corpse, now controlled by parasites, tore apart everything he had worked so hard to build, cursing his own weakness for failing to protect his people, vowing to take revenge...

STRATEGY:
- It's rare for Minos Prime to give a window of opportunity to heal, so it's vital to learn what attacks leave him momentarily vulnerable and how to dodge them in a way that gives an advantageous position during those moments.

- His snake projectiles can be parried using the Feedbacker for a full heal, even if the projectile doesn't hit Minos Prime.

Intro

Ahh...
Free at last
O Gabriel
Now dawns thy reckoning
and thy gore shall glisten before the temples of man
Creature of steel...
My gratitude upon thee for my freedom
but the crimes thy kind have commited against humanity
are NOT forgotten
And thy punishment...
is DEATH

Outro

Aagh!
Forgive me my children
for I have failed to bring you salvation
from this cold, dark world
Aagh!
