P-2

The Flesh Panopticon is the first boss of P-2: WAIT OF THE WORLD. Although intimidating, it is often considered easier than its predecessor, the Flesh Prison Flesh Prison, since in its only encounter, it will instantly die when it tries to heal for the first time or tries to summon a new wave of minions, due to Sisyphus Prime Sisyphus Prime suddenly punching through it, before escaping it and starting the fight against him shortly afterward.

Appearance

The Flesh Panopticon is a large, dull gray cube of skin, flesh, teeth, and eyes, and its upper body is placed on top of a tall, slim pillar made of skin. The cube is composed of sharp edges made of a bonelike substance and is layered with skin on the top and bottom, with four eyes in total. There is then dull red flesh, and finally, an array of teeth completely surrounding the cube. The cube continuously rotates clockwise while its teeth chatter in a wave-like pattern counter-clockwise.

Behavior

The Flesh Panopticon behaves very similarly to the Flesh Prison Flesh Prison's. When it first appears, it will rotate for a short time before chattering its teeth and summoning multiple minions in a horizontal circle around itself. These minions resemble golden floating eyes and smaller versions of a Malicious Face Malicious Face (exclusive to the Violent difficulty and over). When starting an attack, Flesh Panopticon makes whisper-like sounds.

After 50% of the Flesh Panopticon's health has been depleted, it will empower all of its attacks.

Attacks

Hell Mortar Spiral
A yellow ring will appear around the Flesh Panopticon. Then, it will start summoning a spiral pattern of 16 Hell Mortars from its mouth (specifically from the side that has an eye in the bottom right corner), with midair course adjustment similar to those fired by Hideous Masses Hideous Masses but augmented with the capacity to lead V1's position. It has a chance to change the direction of its spin at the start of this attack.
The Hell Mortars deal 60 damage on contact and, when hitting a surface, will create a 40 damage explosion. They can be parried, but due to their high damage, it is risky to do so.
When 50% of its health has been depleted, it will summon 9 additional Hell Mortars per barrage, for 25 total.

Divine Light
A white ring will appear around the Flesh Panopticon. It will then cast one horizontal and one vertical beam of divine light. Each beam deals 30 damage and lingers for a few moments before disappearing, with each subsequent beam lasting 1 second longer than the previous. They are indicated by a spinning white insignia that follows V1 until a few moments before the beam is cast.
The beams are functionally identical to the Virtue Virtue's Divine Light attack, although much wider.
When 50% of its health has been depleted, it will cast an additional vertical beam during this attack, for three beams total.

Black Hole
A purple ring will appear around the Flesh Panopticon. It will then summon a BlackHole.png Black Hole, similarly to The Corpse Of King Minos The Corpse Of King Minos. The Black Hole slowly approaches V1, and upon contact, deals 10 damage and overrides V1's remaining HP with 99 hard damage.
Only one Black Hole can exist at a time.
The Black Hole can only be destroyed if it comes into contact with V1 or when the Flesh Panopticon is killed.

Heal
The Flesh Panopticon will attempt to heal if there are any summons alive. During a heal, it will gain a huge amount of damage resistance, making any attempts to damage it futile.
If there are no summons alive, or after a successful heal, it will summon five more Supreme Eye Spawn on Standard, with a certain number replaced with Malicious Spawn on higher difficulties.
If 50% of its health was depleted when it started the heal, the Flesh Panopticon will summon one extra Supreme Eye Spawn on Standard for six total, and more will be replaced with Malicious Spawn on higher difficulties.

Spawn
The Supreme Eye Spawn have 5 health.
They do not have any attacks, however when any Supreme Eye Spawn is active, any health V1 is missing will turn into Golden Hard Damage that cannot decay until all Supreme Eye Spawns are dead.

On higher difficulties, the Flesh Prison will replace a number of its normal summons with Malicious Spawn. They have 2 health and their only attack is charging a beam similar to the Malicious Railcannon Malicious Railcannon's hitscan, creating an explosion on contact with any surface, Core Eject Grenade Core Eject Grenade or Rocket Rocket, dealing 50 damage. When they are finished charging the beam, they will attempt to predict V1's movement and target the beam accordingly.
The attack cannot be parried, though the beam can be ricocheted off of a Coin Coin, giving the + CHARGEBACK style bonus.

Since the beam shares the same hitscan type as the Malicious Railcannon, it can also be used to perform a Core Nuke.
If V1 is riding a Rocket, the Malicious Spawn will attempt to target it instead of a surface, which can lead to V1 exploding itself even while not near any surfaces.

HEALING

The Flesh Panopticon has a second, smaller yellow bar under its health bar that indicates a timer. When the timer runs out, the Flesh Panopticon will finish any attack it was currently doing, start continuously screaming, and glow a bright neon green. It will make a green connection to all the spawn currently alive and leave a small window of time for V1 to kill as many of them as possible before starting to rapidly absorb them one by one, regaining 20 HP per spawn absorbed by the Panopticon (less on Accessible difficulties). When it is done absorbing all of the spawn, it will then stop glowing, summon a new set of them, and resume its spinning.
This phase is particularly dangerous due to it being able to reset the Flesh Panopticon back to full health and summon fresh spawn, resetting any progress against this boss.

The timer's length specifics are currently unknown.

STRATEGY - P-2 ENCOUNTER

In the base version of P-2, the Flesh Panopticon fight will instantly end once it attempts to heal for the first time or summon a new round of spawn.
As such, the challenge of the fight is managing to survive the Flesh Panopticon's chaotic attacks until Sisyphus Prime breaks out of it.

The best way to survive this section is to avoid getting hit at all costs. The Malicious Spawn should be taken care of at the beginning, as they are the biggest threat due to their high damaging beam. The best way to do this is by either shooting them with a Coin Ricoshot or the Alternate Revolver Alternate Revolver's primary fire.

The Supreme Eye Spawn can be taken care of by grappling them with the Whiplash Whiplash, blasting them with the Shotgun Shotgun and punching them with the Knuckleblaster Knuckleblaster or by shooting at them with the Alternate Piercer's alt fire.
However, players who are more confident can also use the Supreme Eye Spawn and the Flesh Panopticon itself as Hookpoints for the Whiplash, grappling on to them to avoid being hit by the Flesh Panopticon's attacks.

Dodging its attacks is extremely difficult; as previously said, the Flesh Panopticon and its Supreme Eye Spawn can be used as Whiplash Hookpoints. For the less confident, however, that choose to eliminate its spawn to heal can still avoid the Flesh Panopticon's attacks by dash jumping and slide jumping around the Flesh Panopticon; however, this is a MUCH more difficult approach, as not only are the Flesh Panopticon's attacks extremely hard to avoid even at high speeds due to their homing and their lingering, attention must also be paid to the Black Hole's whereabouts so as to not be hit by it.
The Flesh Panopticon itself can also be used as a Hookpoint for the Whiplash, however, without the Supreme Eye Spawn it is a much more dangerous strategy, as one can be sniped by a Hell Mortar or be hit by the Black Hole.

STRATEGY - SANDBOX

Although the Flesh Panopticon has a chaotic set of attacks and many damage resistances, it also has a set of major weak points that can be exploited.

Getting rid of the spawn is crucial, not only to disallow the Flesh Panopticon to heal and reset all progress in the fight, but to also regain the ability to heal. The Supreme Eye Spawn can be taken care of by grappling to them with the Whiplash, blasting them with the Shotgun Shotgun and punching them with the Knuckleblaster Knuckleblaster or by shooting at them with the Alternate Piercer's alt fire. The Malicious Spawn can be taken care of by shooting them either with a Coin Ricoshot or with the Alternate Revolver Alternate Revolver's primary fire.

The Flesh Panopticon itself can be taken care of in multiple ways due to its stationary nature. Placing a Magnet on the Flesh Panopticon and then unloading both Sawblade Launchers Sawblade Launchers is a very effective strategy, as it can take out up to a fourth of the Flesh Panopticon's health pool on its own. Shotgun Blasts and Knuckleblaster punches combined are also extremely effective in taking out the Flesh Panopticon's health, and combined with the Sawblade Launcher strategy the Flesh Panopticon can be killed after just two timer cycles.

After all Supreme Eye Spawn are taken care of, healing turns extremely trivial in this fight; as the Flesh Panopticon is stationary, it allows one to grapple onto it with the Whiplash and use point-blank Shotgun Blasts to quickly restore health. However, extreme caution should be paid, as staying close to the Flesh Panopticon may lead you to being hit by the Black Hole or the Hell Mortars and risk death.
The Hell Mortars the Flesh Panopticon shoots during its Hell Mortar Spiral can also be parried with the Feedbacker Feedbacker for a full heal, full stamina recharge and a good amount of damage back to the Flesh Panopticon, however it is difficult to do so.

Dodging its attacks is extremely difficult; the best way to avoid the Flesh Panopticon's attacks is by dash jumping and slide jumping around the Flesh Panopticon. It is a difficult approach, however, as not only are the Flesh Panopticon's attacks extremely hard to avoid even at high speeds due to their homing and their lingering, attention must also be paid to the Black Hole's whereabouts so as to not be hit by it.
The Flesh Panopticon itself can also be used as a Hookpoint for the Whiplash, and although it is a much more dangerous strategy, as one can be sniped by a Hell Mortar or hit by the Black Hole, it opens up the opportunity for a gigantic amount of damage to be dealt the Flesh Panopticon.
The Hell Mortar Spiral can also be avoided by climbing on the top of the Flesh Panopticon and carefully dodging the Hell Mortars until it switches to another attack, however this, like all the others, can be a devastating approach if the Black Hole or a Hell Mortar manages to hit V1.

Terminal Entry

TYPE: ???

DATA:
Flesh Panopticon is a superior version of the Flesh Prison, built to not only house the soul of King Sisyphus, but also with the capability to keep a watchful eye over any of his followers that may be imprisoned alongside him.

This feature was however never utilized, as Sisyphus' prime soul had already started forming before being imprisoned, leading angels to fear that he may be able to break out of his prison if awakened.

STRATEGY:
- Though Flesh Panopticon creates fewer spawn than its predecessor, they're more resilient and their gaze is able to stop all wounds from healing. This may seem just a curse, but it nullifies the Whiplash's primary flaw, allowing it to be used freely to approach and destroy the spawn at close range.

- Flesh Panopticon's explosives make it dangerous to stay on the ground, but they will phase through the Panopticon to avoid it harming itself, making standing on top of it safer as long as the black hole isn't nearby.
