Landmines are small, circular explosives that act as an environmental hazard. They are introduced in 7-2: LIGHT UP THE NIGHT and can be spawned by themselves or deployed by enemies such as Guttertanks and
Big Johninator.
Behavior
Landmines will blink red while on the ground and inactive. While inactive, Landmines will also emit a faint ticking noise if the player is in close proximity to one. Once activated, they will jump up into the air and flash yellow before detonating. This explosion deals 35 damage.
Landmines can be activated by either being within the player's proximity or by using a ground slam or a Cannonball's grounded shockwave to launch them into the air.
Landmines parried or fired by the player flash blue and detonate on impact.
Strategy
The Feedbacker is capable of parrying Landmines that have been set off and are about to explode. Doing this will throw the Landmine at high speeds in the direction of the player's crosshair. Parrying a Landmine will also fully heal the player, making them a useful healing tool if they are low on health and close-range combat is too risky or impossible.
The Impact Hammer is also capable of launching landmines. Unlike other explosives launched by the Impact Hammer, the Landmine remains a projectile instead of being turned into a hitscan attack. Launching the Landmine this way also does not count as a parry, and does not heal the player.
